My name is Jana Tavender-Reuss and on the photo above you can see where I usually spend most of my free time – on a mountain. I have a degree in Social Education (Social Work/ in German its Diplom-Sozialpädagogin) and am a passionate Alpinist and Mountain Biker. It’s not just about the fitness and conditioning, but because I enjoy the fantastic feeling of being in the middle of nature and taking it all in with all my senses. I grew up in a farming region and even as a child would much rather play with sticks and stones than Barbie dolls. Along with the neighbour kids we enjoyed exploring the woods and climbed in trees. During my studies I was involved with Nature and Adventure Education and it is my dream to make this my profession. I would like to show children and adults the beauty of nature and why it is important to protect and support our natural environment so they can discover Nature as their playground. In 2011 my son was born and I'm looking forward to exploring nature with him and letting him show me the world through his eyes.

The younger kids in Germany think a "Cow is Purple" due to an Advertising Campaign for Milka Chocolate over here! But fortunately there are many people like you who are willing to inspire people to do something about the situation. Read more...
